Tuning is Extremely Important Once Your Pickin’ Stick Arrives in the Mail.
All Pickin’ Sticks are untuned for shipping purposes. You will need to re-tune your Pickin’ Stick once it arrives to an Open G. We suggest using a digital tuner for the best results. Open G tuning uses GDG, near middle C on a keyboard. This will create an automatic cord when all three strings are strummed together.
You may aslo want to check your Pickin’ Stick’s Saddle to make sure it is at the correct tilt. The Saddle is not permanently attached, it is meant to float being held in place by string tension. If it has come undone during the shipping process simply realign it using the diagram below before tuning. Measure 22 7/8″ from the nut to the top edge of the saddle for the .010 string. Measure 22 3/4″ from the nut to the top edge of the saddle for the .023 string.
*If you do not have a digital tuner here is a simple way to tune your Pickin’ Stick.
Tuning your Pickin’ Stick is as easy as 1 -2 -3
1. Tune the low G string with a piano, guitar or other tonal device.
2. Press down on the low G string at the 4th fret and strum that string then the open D
string. Tune the D string (middle string) until it resonates perfectly with the G string, 4th fret. (Shown by the yellow dots)
3. Press down on the D string at the 3rd fret and strum that string then the open high G string.(Shown by the green dots)
